Hidden fastener comparison: Ipe Clip vs Camo vs TigerClaw

I've used all three systems at various points and honestly they all have pros and cons. Wanted to get a broader consensus from you all.

My experience so far:

  • Ipe Clip: Reliable but slow to install, especially on longer runs
  • Camo Marksman: Faster but I've had some boards shift on me
  • TigerClaw TC-G: Good grip but the pricing per sq ft is hard to justify on bigger jobs

Anyone have a strong preference? I'm about to spec a 2,000 sq ft commercial project and want to lock in my system choice.

Used TigerClaw on a 3,000 sq ft commercial pool deck and the per-sq-ft cost was actually comparable once I factored in labor savings. Their pneumatic tool is fast. But I agree the standard clips are pricey.

I've been using the Ipe Clip EXTREME and it's faster than the original while keeping that solid hold. Worth checking out for your project. They also have better tech support than the other brands in my experience.

For the 2,000 sq ft commercial job, I'd go Ipe Clip hands down. Yes it's slower but on a job that size you want zero callbacks. The grip is superior and the boards stay put. Speed matters less than reliability at scale.
