Anyone tried the new Starborn Pro Plug system for hardwood?

Starborn just released an updated Pro Plug system specifically for tropical hardwoods. It uses a face-screwed connection with a matching wood plug that fills the countersink. The result is supposed to look like hidden fasteners but with the holding power of face screwing.

The price is steep — about $2/sq ft for the hardware. But if it looks as good as their marketing photos, it could be a nice middle ground between clips and exposed screws. Anyone tried it yet?
