Showcase: 850sqft Massaranduba wrap-around with custom curved skirting

Just wrapped up this Massaranduba deck in coastal South Carolina. The customer wanted a seamless transition to the yard, so we tackled a custom curved skirting design using 1x4 stock heat-bent on a jig. We used Hidden Deck Fasteners to keep the surface clean, and the client opted for a clear oil finish to let that deep, reddish-brown color pop. Dealing with the density was a bear as usual—burned through three carbide blades just on the miter cuts—but the final result is rock solid. We managed to keep the waste under 8% despite the complex radius. Has anyone else experimented with using a steam box for bending Massaranduba on high-end jobs, or do you find the heat-bending method holds up just as well for exterior applications? Always interested to hear how you guys handle these custom radius details.
