Tigerwood color fading — client expectations

Installed a Tigerwood deck about 8 months ago. Client is upset that the dramatic striping has faded significantly. I explained this would happen during the sales process, but they say they didn't realize how much the contrast would diminish. Applied Penofin Hardwood formula at install. Any tips for managing client expectations better? Or is there a finish that preserves the tiger stripe pattern longer?
